Hi
Anybody knows the exit angle of the jbl 2450sl?
Great work on your monitors!!!
Did you sort out your issues with the 045be driver that measured strangely?
Also, did you settle on a crossover frequency for the UHF drivers?
Johan
Thanks a lot Pos
How critical is the voltage rating of the capacitors?
Hi all!
I decided to try the network on my M2 clones after "riding bareback" for 2 years.
I have a hard time sourcing the components. Especially the resistors.
Anybody knows a good source?
The...
I attached the waveguide using wingnuts, so it is possible to remove it through the woofer hole.
Its not fun and takes forever and hurts the arm bending it through the bracing and what not, but...
Dear Rob
Great post, and i agree. Partially
A 4" driver with Be mounted to a modern CD does benefit from a tweeter with the following reservations:
-The tweeter is up for the job (forget about the...
Im talking about the baffle plate with the ports. I did not make it myself, and regret a little even I doubt it have a significant sonical impact. Maybe reduce diffraction?
I do not have the...
My tips is to go active! Its a steep learning curve but the advantages outweights the hassle. Regarding amps, a tube amp on d2430k and a powerful solid state makes sense. You can drop or modify the...
Thanks for the inspiration for a lower xo with 2384
Dropped from 750 to 650 last night, and as you mentioned; it blends better with the midbasses even some additional distortion may be introduced
Ari and I tried 2450sl with TE and 476be in M2. The sensitivity in the uhf is practically identical with a slight nod to the 476be.
They also sound quite similar when eqed but 476be a tad more...
For a two way system you cannot beat 2384 or M2
2384 is sturdy enough for 2451. Build quality is horrible, but they are readily available, cheap and sound great crossed at 700-800. Can easily be...
Im glad to hear that! It was a sweet deal
Btw did your 045be arrive safely?
I have been testing out different xo lately and use it from 10k now. This is the lowest i tried them. No reason to go lower with 2384 but you must use your ears to judge with your midhorn.
I Like...
Testing mine at down to 10k as we speak. They do a fine job down there with a steep crossover
Hope they arrive in good shape. Im sure you will like them
Thanks!
Hi
Does anybody here have a nearfield measurement of the 045be or 045be-1?
Prefferably on the DD66000/S9900 horn and moderately smoothed
Regards,
Johan
I am now using M2 clones with D2430k mostly for movies and TV, and it is stellar. But for music I definately preffered the 2450sl with Truextent. My experience is exactly how Rob describes it; much...
You cannot replace the diaphragms in the d2430k with beryllium, so your option is to replace the driver all together.
2435, 476be or 2447, 2450sl and 2451 with truextent diaphragm would all work...
This horns should be quite intresting, and about the same size as the larger yamamoto
I have not listened to it myself. Only the smaller version from autotech, but I am sure it would aound wonderful...
Hi Jakob
the midhorns were initially simulated with hornresp.
Its very easy to work with 2220 as it is made for these kind of horns
Design criterias was a horn to cover 80-600hz, and it ended up...
How would a damage like this occur? It does not look like the typical over excursion.
Anyways, I would expect that used drivers with a price tag like this to be seriously tested with tone...
Here is how i did it
78259
Dont remember the lenght, but as long as everything add up...
I used 15mm for the outer baffle plate, and it came out perfect aligned with the lower waveguide lip
Have been participating in this project, and had a visit last week to inspect the final result. It sounds just as "badass" as it looks! actually quite surprising how accurate this system is, and not...
