This is my DIY project 35 years ago.
LE8T+PR8 is running at full range.
LX2 is used to run LE20.
I, too, thought the thread title was a joke.
I learned a lot from his postings here.
Thank you, Zilch.
Rest in peace, Zilch.
Almost 35 years ago I started this project but I could not finish.
This thread reminded me this project I almost forgot.
I think I know what to do next summer.
Thank you.
I have no experience restoring old cabinets but I have constructed several new cabinets from ground up.
If I was you, I would paint baffles and back panels flat black. Just like original Apollo....
I think you have home made cabinets. They are very well made indeed, following the blue-print provided by JBL.
The baffle cutout is designed to mount any woofers/comp. drivers/horns available...
Hi Scott, Long time no see.
My DIY C51 has the same type of joints which I followed the plan.
I, too, bought a plan for C51/Apollo from JBL and tried to construct the cabinets in the mid 70s.
I cut various size of plywood following the plan except the solid wood for top panel where it...
It is "侍 - SAMURAI" in negative form. ;)
Hi John,
I am sorry to hear of your health problem and I will always remember how I got JBL components through you.
Take care,
Keith
A couple years ago, I was looking for horse shoe clamp style rings for 075. But I could not find them. So I purchased square mounting rings for 077 and attached to 075. It looked exactly same as in...
My computer has an optical outlet so I use toslink cable to connect to the receiver which is 20 feet away from the computer.
Sounds nicer than the computer speakers.:)

Yes, that is what I did.
Sensitivity of 2226H is 97dB and 2235H is 93dB. So I brought down 2425J/2370A to match up to 2235H and also I increased 077 slightly to balance with extended base.
...
Replaced 2226H with 2235H. ( Thank you, Scott.)
With 2226H, I was getting tight bass with punch, but VLF was somewhat missing.
After the change, I have lower bass with 2235H. But I felt I lost...
The size is "crossover" of 4507 and 4338.

4338 (H x W x D): 36.26 x 21.61 x 14.76 inch
My system (H x W x D): 36.26 x 21.5 x 15.75 inch

Hi Scott and John,
When I was planning this project, 2235H was my first choice of components. But I soon realized it is hard to find them.
I wanted to finish the project before the end of...
I, too, attended Tina Turner's concert at GM Place in Vancouver, similar to AC Center in Toronto, a few years ago. I had the same impression about their sounds as yours. I guess they brought in their...
Components I used for this project are:

Hello everyone,
Here are some pictures of my summer project thanks to the threads relating to 4671, 4507, 2370A in this forum. :blah:
