Some of the product pages are still there, but there's no way to find them from their main page. Google still has the links. So maybe they just need to rebuild an index for the database or something....
The notes about 8 ohms refer to the test fixture that is used to characterize the crossover network. That part is not about the driver. The curve shown matches what we expect to see from a 16 ohm...
Browsing at jblsynthesis.com and jbl.com today leads to the conclusion that they have discontinued everything that was any good. Maybe the web site is just broken? Let's hope so. Nothing left at...
In my area, CDs and DVDs are commonly found at garage sales and flea markets for a dollar each. I'm experiencing something of a golden age of being able to find music that I like that I can also...
I've found that 150 DPI is about right when scanning for web posting.
Sure is nice to see it big on the cover of the magazine.
One of my favorites. The legendary Christine Perfect. Before Fleetwood Mac. Hard to find, but well worth searching for.

Nice!
Congratulations to you, nice work!
Turns out to be an interesting story, but it's not an econowave. An 8 inch public address driver repurposed. Based more on research of articles in older Japanese audio magazines.
And apparently...
I happened across a video that discusses them.

Google says, Japan market subwoofer, to pair with their mini 4312s. Cool looking.
Don't we all have a character flaw or two? Cut some slack.
Here's something from my JBL folder.
Yes, still solid wood then.
There are so many different version of this speaker, you should be more specific. On the original version from the 70s, the trim at the edges of the foam is solid wood.
I think it's going to be Peter Aczel's favorite, the Waveform Mach.
Sorry, as far as I know the schematics for the first versions are not online anywhere. I asked here years ago. Maybe build your own XPL140A crossovers from scratch? It might be better to keep your...
There were three different ones though. Giskard mentioned the 2235HS once. I have two woofers here from S2S. One has aquaplas and the other doesn't. It probably has a mass ring instead. I don't want...
I have a few LE20-1 tweeters, they all just have solder lugs instead of the spring loaded terminals, so that's normal.
They look correct to me. I've seen others with the size adapters like that and the workmanship looks like JBL.
See if the dimensions match C53....
If there is some voice coil wire still available to solder to, it's pretty easy to fix. You're just making continuity through the coil, if you have that it will work again. You probably have to...
It's kind of hard to see the tweeters, but they resemble some Phillips tweeters that I've seen.
