It's a tight fit underneath the shelf but I can try and maybe get and extra 3/4" under the front.

Thanks Ivica. I'm about 90" from the speaker but if the difference is minimal, then it would be a whole lot easier to just keep the 2405 in the cab.
Appreciate the math and the feedback.
Hi. I'm wondering if elevating the tweeter - outside and above the cabinet - will improve my listening experience?
I know that it's ideal to have the tweeters at ear level but I can't raise the...
Thanks Don,
That's what I was concerned about - even if I keep the crossover point at 800Hz (which seems to get universal agreement). I'll have to experiment with bypassing some of the filters that...
Fair enough. I know that the x-over point as designed is 800Hz and it does sound better that way (now).
But do you know if I properly designed my passive crossover to take advantage of an...
Hi All,
When I built my 4333 project this summer, I decided to bi-amp using a Rane AC22 active crossover to split the signal for low and mid/hi. I used the Nelson Pass L300/4333 mod to build a...
For now, I am bi-amp only. Looking at the schematic for the Nelson Pass mod, i simply didn't build the circuit for the woofer as that signal will come straight from the bottom amp. I did build the...
Thanks Doctor_Electron. I'll take some time and do the math laid out in the link you provided. I had also seen the enclosure guide and I have seen a lot of JBL 4320 that were converted to 4333's...
I'm building some new crossovers for my 4333 using Nelson Pass design - but modified for bi-amp. Based on how the original 3133 crossovers were built, I'm running wires from crossover board to the...

BTW - I found that a pop-up shade tent made for a nice spray booth when you wrap it with a little painters plastic.

The build is coming along slowly but I did get the fronts and backs painted. I used Advance from Benjamin Moore which is a hybrid water based alkyd paint. Turned out good but a little glossier than...
It looks like the holes are 1 1/4" from the edge of the woofer cut out.
Thanks Barry. I have a 1UF capacitor that I was going to use for the 077's based on the Nelson Pass 4333 mod which uses a single 1UF cap in the circuit. I'll give them a try with that and see how...
If you just got some 077's and LE85's in the mail, what would you do to test the integrity of them?? I'm eager to put them thru their paces but don't want to rush into making any stupid mistakes....
Those speakers are beautiful and I bet they sound even better. You did a great job with the cabinets as well. Thanks for the tip on this speaker terminals.
It's the least I could do considering how helpful this forum and its members have been to me.
That is a nice looking loudspeaker.
Problem solved. To remove the grill clips from the 4320/4333 cabinets, you have to pry open some tabs. And I only had to destroy one clip to figure it out.:crying:
Get yourself a penlight so you...
That's a good idea. I've been using pliers and vise grips and they aren't budging (but a couple of tips are snapping off). I was wondering how they were secured. I'll try the heat gun tomorrow and...
I'm almost finished sanding but now I can't figure out how to remove the grill clips without destroying them. I could probably sand around them but I'm not going to be able to spray around them. ...
Hi Jesper,
Did you get any pictures of the cabinets? I'm doing the same conversion and I wonder if your seller had also blocked off and shortened one of the (2) ports so as to tune it closer to a...
Still sanding the front baffles which had a splatter finish on it.

Thru trial and error, I was able to remove the port tubes best using a thin utility knife. The kind with the retractable blade that you can snap off when the tip becomes dull. The larger blades...
