Thanks, I appreciate your input and advice. I can tweak the width to 23". Mind you these dimensions are internal. I accommodated 1.5" baltic birch thickness so 9.10 cu. ft. gross. Why do you see no...
Those dimensions fit neatly behind my Acoustats. :)
What would/could the consequence be? The driver on the 22" side 10" up from the bottom, the ports up top.
Did I calculate wrong? Height would be 60", 57" internal. 22X12x57 internal yields 8.7'. So with a bit of eq i should be able to get them down to 22hz with room gain? I have a Driverack 4820 to mate...
Right. Those dimensions will fit neatly out of the way. It's about space. The Sub18s are just too massive for my space.
So after contemplating, I'm wondering what drawbacks there might be to building a pair if 8-9' cabs. 22X12X57 internal vol before any bracing, fill, or driver displacement. Probably around 8' net. I...
That is a beautiful curve on the 2245. I just can't live with an 8' cab..or two. Anyway, I think I've hijacked Cerondipity's thread long enough.
Thanks so much, guys. Doesn't look like a smaller cab would change things with that 15" in the U15. But is there a way to cheat a little bit by coupling the 18" to the floor? I mean facing the driver...
That's good info, thank you. I want to mate subs to a pair of Yorkville U15. I don't want to go bigger than 5'. Is there a Mac alternative?
Yea, that's what I'm referring to. Thanks.
So my question is, are there tunable ports available to tune the room?
Everything else aside, I wouldn't want, nor have I had recones shipped in boxes smaller than the diameter of the cone. If a lesson was learned it was learned before this issue came here.
Sounds like the dust filter disintegrated, and got into the gap. That would cause that obstructed movement. You'll have to remove the cone and clean out the vc gap. Better to remove it as a unit....
So it appears to be a semi-good find for a couple of bucks? The oem vc is in great condition. The baskets are identical to the others I have.90347 John has come through so these will have new oem...
Thank you Ken. I should mention I did manage to round up a pair of 2203H in rough shape, arrived today. One has original cone with completely collapsed unsalvageable spider, no idea of vc condition....
no bouncy bouncy?
What about trimming down a 2245 cone?:bouncy:
So they come to your place, pack them on site and take them?
No, but the pursuit of it is. :)
I already have a pair of 2203 along with the rest of the components including xo for 4315s. What I want to try is doubling the 2203s in mag to cone isobaric.
Is this possible by changing surrounds?
Hi Ian. I'm interested in your answer to your own question. "otherwise why manufacture a tube amplifier?" This comparison is clearly an apples and oranges one. On the one hand you've got an amp...
Okay, I stand corrected. I suppose the flatter response makes it seem louder?
Imo the ss amp is noticeably louder notwithstanding the rolloff of the tube amp. Even though the ss amp is obviously more forward sounding, the entire mid range is clearly louder with the ss. Not...
It appears so from the specs. You can google xmech for both and the JBL spec sheet comes up. You can also google jbl pro service thiel small parameters and the link comes up for the list for most...
