Anybody knows it? I just found it by coincident.

When Sparkomatic, up to that point a car audio manufacturer, bought the right to use the Altec name to use on consumer audio products, they made the Bias as a "statement" product. Looked pretty advanced for it's time, which was early 70's, but I would be willing to bet they never sold more than a few pairs

Actually, the Bias was sold from about 1987 to about 1991, IIRC. I was selling and installing Altec-Lansing car audio gear at that time (still have an ALA270 car amp, D*** impressive amp!), and those also had the same woven-fiber cones. The stuff had great transient response, and was generally built pretty well...
Too bad Altec-o-matic degenerated to only building dinky computer speakers, soon thereafter...
