Good morning

My Name is Michael from germany and iīm seraching for the perfect enclosure
for the 904 8A`s. Itīs very difficult to find anything in the web about it.
When i see the Thiele small parameters from this drivers it would be the best to create a horn enclosure. Bassrefelex wouldnīt work well in my opinion.

Iīm not shure but some time ago i saw an 604 / 904 driver in a VOTT?
Is this a possible solution and if so, wich VOTT type would be the best?

A german manufacturer builts a horn cabinet for the actual 604 8L driver.
See here:

Many questions but i hope somebody can help me.

Have a nice day,
Michael

Hi,

Concerning the Altec Duplex. One of the early original A6 cabinet had a front loaded Duplex speaker. This was discussed in a previous thread.

There are two types of Altec duplex today the DTS with it's elongated horn is placed in a front loaded horn.

The original Duplex and true Hi Fi can be mounted for monitors, duct ported etc....

Enclosure size parameters (cubic FEEt ) Based on 604-8g

A Infinite baffle >4.5
B Ducted port Bass reflex <6.0
c Regular port Bass reflex >6.0
D Infinite Baffle <12.0

Recommended optimum 9.0
