How do you tell the difference? Is it as obvious as the model number being different? The reason I ask is that I opened up the L19s (as marked on the front label) I purchased Friday and they have 116H woofers in them. Shouldn't they be 116As?

Check the serial numbers. I have heard that if they have the A following the number, that would indicate the model change. Likely, they couldn't just throw away the foilcals that they already ordered but didn't use if there was a design change.

Hope that helps.

Bart, they do indeed have an "A" following the numbers. Didn't even see that in the dimness of my garage. So I'd gather they are indeed L19As.

Thank you for that insight.

You're very welcome. BTW, I don't usually spell "regards" as "regads", maybe a little Boston accent coming through!

The difference between them is

The L19 has a 116A which is Alnico
The L19A has a 116H which is ferrite. The tweeter and cross over was the same on both.
