Saw them and just had to have them:D

Sounded like crap when I auditioned them (they were driven by a 15w/ch Akai and a playstation for cd)
Thought they had promise. so I brought them home and hooked them up to some tubes and bingo! They are sounding pretty sweet.

Im going to refinish the cabs and recap the x-over.

I passed on the that second set. I am currently in an "excess" situation, and while I was thinking about pulling the trigger on them, a pair of L50's came into my life.

Go get them and make yourself a Quad system.:bouncy:

They do have a certain charm to them. What are your refinishing plans?

What is an excess situation? ;)An excess situation is when one says they will sell off 4430,s to get new Arrays series, already has Performance series, and knows they will wind up keeping 4430,s once they get Array series , etc!

This is called Excess Situation! Hope this helps.

Hey guys,

I called the seller yesterday to see if the other pair was still available but he has not returned my call yet. But if he does and the price still stands (my original purchase price) Im going to grab them.

I was amazing, just throwing tubes at them completly transformed the sound. Im not sure about the x-over or value of the caps yet. the only thing I have done so far is replace the bell wire connections from the horn driver to the rear terminals. Im going in hopefully this weekend.

The previous owner repainted with med. gloss black so Im going to veneer with wood or I might just get a wild hair up my ass and go exotic p-lam:D
Not sure yet. These sound too good not to throw some time intothem. Their not JBL's so I dont think that altering them will effect value lol. I pretty sure Im going to keep these.

Colin, Mark M. is going to help me with the x-over work and after I get them all beautified you will have to hear these!

I will post again with the "finished" product.

Listen to em! But really, they look like intriguing speakers. Congrats on getting all four. As our friend Ti-Dome can tell you, restraint is not an option in our hobby.:D

I finally got around to pulling the back off one of the Fraziers a couple of weeks ago.
Here are a few pics of the Frazier showing the woofer/caps and whatnot.
