I have restored a pair of L-96s, but the midrange drivers appear to have some distortion, and i have other mids around from other pair of speakers and would like some suggestiions: speakers avail are: L-166, L-100, P-30, L-65, L-50and L110. I am not keen of swapping out for obvious reasons, but want the L-96s to really sound real good if possibe until i can get the original ones repaired....any ideas.....thanks.

thank you for the matrix, that cleared up a lot, but stll, the numbers are all so similar, it makes me wonder about the sound,...the L-166 and the L-110 are quality speakers and possibly would not downgrade the sound, but the L -96 by the matrix has its own midrange driver not assigned to another line.....the L-166 is alum. exterior wheile the L-110 is black, but it is the sound quality i am really after to maintain.......ideas and suggestions are appreciated.....

But the L -96 by the matrix has its own midrange driver not assigned to another line....That's not how I read it. LE5-6, 8, 10, & 12 are all the same except for cosmetics....
