Hello . http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

I have Yamaha CX-2 and Yamaha MX-2 and speakers (http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12732#) are JBL 4412.
When I play music low it is allright , but when I am playing loud ( not clipping)
the sound get screeming.. ?
With my old speakers , a pair of Jamo , cheap danish speakers, it was not screeming ? Is MX-2 a bad amplifier or is JBL4412 a bad speaker ?
Anybody seen a rewiev of MX-2 ? I only can find one rewiev (Audiorewiev).
Is it just a bad combination of speaker and amplifier I got ?..What to do ?

Best Regards from Denmark. http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

It would be hard to call the 4412 a "bad" monitor since it is one of JBL's most well regarded 12" 3-way designs.

Not sure exactly what you mean by screaming though... the 4412 is very neutral and transparent. It's response is pretty much flat under a number of load scenarios.

I'd say it's the amp, but that's just me. More info?

It sounds like the yamaha MX-2 have a hard time. Is 4412 a hard speaker for the amplifier? Impedance ans so on ?
Where can I see how 4412 is doing on impedance over the hole freqence ?
Hope you understand and sorry my bad english.

It's available on the JBL Pro website:

When I look at that curves it look for me, as 4412 is very hard to the amplifier .Is that correct ?
Thank you for all the help..I need it.. :)

Not particularly, no. I've never heard of anyone having difficulty running 4412's.

[Though I do vaguely recall it being mentioned before.]

Try 'em on a different amp, maybe....

No, I'd say the amp should work fine... more power would not be a bad idea though. Something stable at 4ohm loads with say 80-100 clean watts?

The components in that monitor can be driven quite easily with far less.

Does the amp you are using have nay known issues?

The amp I am using is Yamaha MX-2 2 x 190watt RMS 4 Ohm.
Maybe something about Yamaha is not working very well with the JBL4412?

Hi Fritz
May I suggest you beg borrow or steal a "CD Player" and plug that into the system and do an AB comparison,I think you may be suprised!

Anybody know where I can find a test or some words about how a
Sony dvdplayer NS930 sounds like ?
If the Sony is bad in stereo I will recone the 4412. So they will last another 20 years !
I tried the internet .I cant find any test of that dvd player.. :(

PS: THANKS for all your help. I need it badly.
