Hi Guys, asking a question on behalf of a friend who is looking at purchasing a pair of used DD66000s. The pair he is looking at has S/N XXXXX on the rear. Upon contacting Harman they say format should be AB1234-CD1234567?. Does this sound correct to anyone here. Any DD66000 owners care to chime in regards serial numbers on their speakers please?. Much appreciated. He is looking at moving a lot of his JBL collection(1400 Array,250Ti,XPL200 etc)and grabbing these, his "Dream" JBLs.

Ok,i think he is going to go for it. Looks like they were built in Mexico. They even come with the packaging. Pity they arent as cheap second in Australia as they are in the US. He has some great components to run them with so he should be extremely happy with them.

Where are all the Americans with enough bucks to have the Everests?

Or do you all have DD67000? :applaud:

Yes, we all have DD67000s. I use them as height channels for my atmos system, with them bolted to the rafters of the man cavern below my McMansion.

Don’t you also have that extra pair in the garage that you use as jackstands for your BMW?

Right. As you drive forward, they roll back and raise the front end. Makes oil changes a breeze.

Seriously, I'd love a pair of DD6x000 speakers. Just not in the cards & that's OK. May do the older DD55000 one day.

Just an Update, My friend has been enjoying the DD66000s in his setup. He said they are the best speakers he has ever heard. Previously he was swapping out his various JBLs including 1400 arrays,250Ti Classic Edition and Teak versions plus some XPL200s. Hes running the DD66000s off a pair of plinius SA Reference power amps setup as monoblocks. Hes still doing a bit of tweaking here and there but according to him he is one happy chappy. Hopefully one day soon i can fly from New Zealand to Australia to listen to them myself.

I think that owner popped up on the LHS a while ago.

Glad he is enjoying them.

I do hope at some point JBL does another project K2 system.

I don't know why, but they do tend to be a speaker that is harder than many to integrate into the room. In the right room they are truly stunning though.

I do hope at some point JBL does another project K2 system.I wouldn't hold my breath. For JBL's 60th anniversary they rolled out the DD66000. For the 75th anniversary they rolled out this.

Let’s get the Project May out of the mothballs and ask Greg to finish it off…it would his jubilee then.
