For those who read Stereophile, and those who don't, there is a very interesting artical entitled The Devon and Marlow Excitements. Look at the picture on the bottom left side of Page 29. Turns out to be an interesting story, but it's not an econowave. An 8 inch public address driver repurposed. Based more on research of articles in older Japanese audio magazines.

And apparently occasionally available for sale. I don't think many of us would be interested at those prices though.
