It's probably the file size. I recently had to resize a photo to post it after getting that message. I texted it to myself which automatically resized it and it loaded.

Currently, I can't upload images ( even small ones ) into posts. Also, the "Editor" isn't working ( it doesn't appear as an option for usage ) when writing this note.I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem??:)

I tried unsuccessful to upload one over the weekend. At the time I assumed I had a weak cell signal. Perhaps not?

Yep, it appears to be broken.…………………………………………………………………………………………………….Know anyone at AK? They are running the back end these days. It hasn't been terribly reliable since the transition to their servers. Unfortunately I do not have their contact info.It seems to be a pretty strange way to run a website. ………………………………………………………………………………………….And the text formatting appears broken too............................................... ...................................Widget

AK is running the backend for the Laning Heritage site? I had no idea - but I have noticed Lansing Heritage has been unavailable twice in the last few weeks. And - Lansing Heritage is still "Powered by vBulletinฎ Version 4.2.5" - but AK left that software a number of years ago ...AK Forum software by XenForo™ ฉ2010-2017 XenForo LtdImage upload test - failed - I selected a local file, but the java upload just cycled and cycled and never completed.

I reformatted this blob of text, and it auto-formats it into garbage
Look at the front page: https://www.audioheritage.org/I don't know what this means - looks the same to me - JamesB on the front, an ancient Webring link that goes to a page explaining Webrings are long gone ...https://webring.com/,The legend of "Hosted by CSD Internet" - http://www.csdco.com/ - that may be different. The only odd thing is the link to the venerable Project May, linked to [email protected], who I think has commonality with AK tech team. And yes, the auto-formatting here does suck. Thats vBulletin, innit? Not sure - its been a while since I built any threads and content here ...

That front page link has the CSD logo. So that must be out of data.

Who’s funding the servers? Who now owns the site?

It is frustrating when something like this is outside your control
unexpectedly. Time for a think.

If the people at AK are no longer reliable or as reliable as we would like it might be a good time to look at an autonomous option.

( some basic text editing is still possible if one knows a little bit of the vBulletin instruction set )

Go to bbcode tags (https://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/misc.php?do=bbcode) to see what's editable using these tags.

Here's a clickable pic of Heather's L212 set ( which btw, are for sale at an excellent price );

Try making these changes to your General Settings;

:)

PS; the text editor still won't appear ( & be usable ), but the image upload should work.

I tried EarlK's suggestion - but had to downsize my images to get uploads working ...
I'll presume the server had ImageMajick module in the past that would auto-downsize large images.
I had to downsize my 3meg images to something like 750-860 to upload them.

Those dog gone Heathkit Valencias finally went down the road!
Replaced them with a different pair of Heathkits ... AS-1348 from 78-80 ...

Thanks Earl!

I am still miffed at whoever is in charge here... this is messed up!

I had to Google Heather's new speakers. I found these... interesting. Are they functioning? Will you turn them into your super L200s?

Yes, they are functional. They were apparently made from 1977 through 1980 - I have a screencap from the 1980 Christmas catalog with them, but I gather not many were sold.
They originally had rear-facing slot fed Philips 15" woofers, but somewhere down the line the surrounds failed and sadly, someone replaced them with Parts Express Dayton woofers.
I suspect the original Philips drivers are long since out of production and unobtainium. Of course, I have that new pair of 2216Nd drivers, so I have temporarily loaded them into the
rear mounts. They are better than the Dayton woofers, but I don't think they've quite got the feel of the original light-cone Philips woofers.
And, I did consider that one 2216Nd woofer costs more than I paid for the pair of Heaths!

I did chase down the Heathkit assembly manual - and it seems there are only 4 caps in the crossover, so with 40+ year old speakers, I think thats the next step, tho the mids and tweeters are playing fairly well considering. I touched up the chips and scratches, and have some new grill cloth ordered from Huntley Audio.

I don't know if they'll be the super L200 system - I do like the look of them. They're 24 x 15 x 38 - and taper to the base and the top - which is only 10 inch deep.
That's not enough room to hang the JohnW Smith horn, adapter and 2445j driver up there, but I am looking into other options.

Thanks Earl!

Nice looking cabinets style wise Is the cabinet a single compartment? ....Or is the woofer separate from the upper mid-range / tweeters

Yep, it’s basically one large chamber, with some acoustic material in the upper space, and “cans” behind the midrange drivers. The manual says its effectively 5 cu ft.

La Senorita,

RE I suspect the original Philips drivers are long since out of production and unobtainium.

I remembered that Canada's qcomponents.ca (no affiliation) still had some Philips drivers for sale. I checked them tonight and what i saw seems to be 12" and 10" woofers, but i haven't looked at the details. You might want to check with them if they still have a pair of 15" hanging around? (sometimes they have stuff not on their web pages). They're located say Toronto region.

In case they do have then it could be your lucky day since the US currency is worth more than Canadian ($1 USD = about $1.25 CAD) and there's usually no sales tax on exported material. Regards,

Richard

I found there is a file size limitation on the new implementation of file uploads.
I use PhotoshopElements (or whatever) to cut them down below 1 Meg and have no problem with uploads now.
The original picture was 4032 x something - file size was 2.9 meg (and the upload failed).
After I resized it and cut it down to 1008 x 756 ... the resulting file size is about 350k -
and you can see the upload works now ...
(yep, that's me running the Audio board and MacBook Pro for Live Streaming at church on Sunday mornings).

Did you do the changes to your personal account page here first like EarlK showed us below?
Make sure Enhanced Attachment uploading is turned OFF.
That turns OFF the java uploader we used to use (that just spins and spins and never completes)

Those reduced image sizes are okay for simple visual images.

But for sharing detailed technical graphical information this breakdown poses a limitation on the future the way people communicate.

It’s a bit like visiting after the fall of Rome.
