375 Dynimium Driver?? Anyone know anything about this?

I got a piece of JBL literature from member "ronwilk" that shows a 375 driver in 2 configurations and prices. One is the Alnico version at 32 lbs. at $525. The other is a Dynimium version at 11 lbs. and $950. There is no date on the printout but I'd guess 1970's.

I'm assuming this version used a Neodymium magnet which is either more powerful or lighter (or both) than Alnico.

Has anyone heard of such a 375 driver? Was it ever made or could this be a price list that came out before the actual driver and production of the driver was canceled?

No. It's not in any of the catalogs on the site. Weights off too heavy. Neo back in the 70's ??

Those prices are way high! Look at the 1976 Pro price list. 2440 is a 375. Same for the Le-85/2420. Looks like someone is inflating the prices. I have seen so many sham auctions on EBay it wouldn't surprise me if that was the source. How many unknown JBL prototypes do you think are floating around out there?? Maybe I am wrong but I doubt it.

The prices did seem high. Unfortunately there is no source for that literature. Maybe it was a dealer reselling at inflated prices.
Maybe they had an item similar to the 375 they offered that was only 11# (and twice as expensive) which they entered on the price list themselves, thus the larger font.

It's an odd one.

I was just curious if anyone else had run across this oddity.
