Greetings everyone.

I have run across some early JBL speakers. They have an N500 crossover and include the original cabinet build plans, but they do not mention the driver compliment. The plans refer to a model 55060 using an N1200 crossover and a 55080 using an N500 crossover. On the plans, they are also referred to as Folded Horn Theatre System Furniture model.

In searching, I can find no references to such models, so am hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.

Hello and welcome to LH Vintage Audio
I believe the system you are referring to uses the C55 enclosure and was loaded with the 080 components series. That system used 2 x 150-4 woofers a 375 /537-509 comp horn and a N500 crossover. Look at the JBL library catalog year 1962 last page and will show you. 55080 the first two numbers were the cabinets 55 and the last three numbers 080 were the component loads. The 55060 I have not heard of. Are you sure it is not 55050 if so it was 2 x 130-B woofers a 175/DHL horn lens and N1200 crossover. Hope this helps:)

Thanks for the welcome.

This is what the cabinet plan shows (see attached).

On the top, there is what appears to be a 537-509 lens, so would match the 080 load you outlined. Thanks VERY much for the guidance.
