Hello everyone. I have had zero luck finding any information on a "JBL 4501 Control Monitor". There is a listing for a pair that need repair and looking into finding if it's worth my time. Everything points to a 4310, and they look like 4310's but the label on back says 4501. These have black drivers instead the white 2213's Please help:banghead:

Perhaps very early 4310. Good luck:

There's a pair on Ebay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jbl-Type-4501-James-B-Lansing-Control-Monitor-Speakers/154339420878?hash=item23ef58aace:g:Bk8AAOSwK61gMe0 c) right now. If not the ones you're looking at, maybe they can help you.

I assumed they were what triggered the question. Cat's out of the bag now. Have to pull the drivers to know for sure, but they look pretty clean other than paint and the inevitable goop drip.

Certainly no secret as to how they'll sound!

I think those are pretty cool , the birth of a legend. Easy to make look tidy if the drivers are A1 ,, why not ?

Well, I'm sure I over paid for these but I am the new owner. I would like some input on the proper gray paint to restore these. My goal is to bring that back to original condition when manufactured. Any help or advise would be most appreciated.

There is a very strong "cool" factor there, though. Do they both share the same "serial" number??

Serial Numbers 10010 and 10014. I will have them in my hands this afternoon. I'll post some pics then. Thank you guys! Is it safe to assume that this is #10 and #14 off the production line?
