Does anyone have technical Thiele-Small info for the 2213Nd-1 or and-2? These were 12” versions of the M2 woofer with differential drive. The -2 has low TCR wire.

Mods: I meant to add a question mark to the title. Sorry!

Alan,

I'm pretty sure that they haven't been published ( "Giskard>4313B" used to be the provider of that sort of info > but he's moved on ) .

OTOH, you've mentioned previously that you have a pair if ( 2010 USA made ) 4319's . (http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?37395-End-of-an-Era-43-years-with-JBL-is-Over&p=429685&viewfull=1#post429685)

If you want ts parameters for the 2213nd woofers, then you always have the option of measuring them for yourself ( REW can do this for you on either a PC or Mac ).

Alternately, if what you are really wondering is does the woofer have untapped LF potential ( that's compromised by the box size of the 4319 ) then I'd suggest simply building a test box that's 1/3 larger than whatever the 4319 is ( & give it a means for variable tuning ) and then have at it .
- Try a 30hz tuning.

FWIW, it's the box that "owns" the tuning.
- The woofer is merely the source of air blowing across the port ( like blowing across the opening of a soda bottle ).
- The two "systems " put together comprise an "alignment" .

I do have a pair of 4319's. (2213Nd-1). They sound great, albeit with the Japanese-market ultra-clean but muted bass. I am also thinking about picking up a pair of 2213ND-2's for a DIY project since they don't come around frequently and are unlikely to ever be made again.

DIY would be
1) building a speaker around the 2213Nd-2 vs.
2) See what the 4319 does with the 2213Nd-2 and building a speaker around the 2213Nd-1.

What I like about the 2213Nd-2 as a novice speaker builder is that the 4312E ran the 2213Nd-2 *full range* old-school 4311/L100 style so I imagine it is very forgiving. (The midrange enters around 2kHz on the 4312E.)

Haven't thought about what I would mate the 2213Nd-2 with though.

According the manual, the 4312E has a -1, not a -2.
