$1800/pair msrp... eek. That means maybe around $800/pr with exceptional sales?
I’d like to try them but that seems too high.

They put this in the Synthesis line so I think the exceptional pricing will be rare. Seems to be a good performer but also seems to be somewhat similar to the Studio 530.

It seems this is patent in regard to Advanced Aluminum Matrix cone.

CMMD has been a part of Harman for a while. First featured in the Prelude MTS, Intermezzo, Interlude line. There were some delamination issues in early designs. The first generation Revel's (M20 generation) also had that.
JBL Studio 2 uses a version of the CMMD too.
