Donald was lookin' for something to do with LE14. It's probably the most "available" driver on eBay, and very reasonably priced, typically $75 each.
Refoaming resurrects them. Reconing to LE14H-1 supposedly makes them even better.
Has anyone played the DMS-1 game with them?

Izzat a single chamber box?
Anybody know the tuning?
Is there already a thread on this I can't find?

We KNOW how to punch up the VHF extension passively to keep it a 2-way.
Will the new PW horn tomp787 has go high enough?
How come CAPITALS in my titles revert to l/c?

I was thinking about it for a while, but I have not actually done anything, and I probably never will. Here's the thread:

Thanks, Don. I thought I remembered some ruminations about such a project.
We DO have listening response from one member in Italy, post #7 here:

[Still searching....]

Hi Zilch
How come CAPITALS in my titles revert to l/c?
Actually, I think that there is no "resorting" to lower case going on .
I've found that if I want to modify the tiltle of a particular post - I must register a reason for the change or else the "change/edit" won't take place. This is in contrast to the ability to modify the text body of the post. ( ie . these changes will be registered without a "reason for editing" being entered . )

D'Appolito 3/2 geometry wants twice crossover wavelength spacing between woofers with the mid/high midway between. Wavelength at 1000 Hz is 13.5 inches, easily leaving room for a 12" x 12" horn between them.
So, how come JBL so obviously scrunched the inter-woofer distance down to the minimum the 2332 horn would allow in the DMS-1? The rules different for CD horns?
I note also that Robert (sebackman) found 2451/2332 sufficiently lacking in VHF to warrant a supplemental tweeter here (http://audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=3774). 2451 is allegedly the same as the 2450SL-A used in DMS-1 here (http://audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=3283).
Looking forward to the results of various members' tests of the newer horn/driver combinations, obviously....

FWIW; I make a distinction between MTM and D'Appolito setups . MTM ( to me ) is a much broader generalized descriptor versus "D'Appolito" which (for me ) invokes a strict adherence to its "rules" ( including inter-driver phase relationships ) . From my perspective, JBL just follows the much broader MTM definition.
