Yeah, and the dust domes on the mid-bass drivers look suspect to me. Also, I'm guessing there were far fewer 4345s made than 4355s, but that's just a guess.

Thanks for posting! Always fun to see stuff like this.

I've always heard 200 4345s but never saw any real substantiation for any monitor production numbers.

That surprises me as they were quite popular with Discos. 4345s were used mostly in studios and a few radio stations.

As I mentioned, I've never seen any substantial or official claim for numbers of any of the large 43xx series. Just round numbers of speculation and Internet lore.

My memory (that's another subject...) of the matter as discussed here is several to numerous mentions of the complete destruction of JBL's production records when the Northridge earthquake triggered a sprinkler system. That's why I am skeptical of precise numbers of units.

My memory (that's another subject...)You and me both... you bring up a really good point. Maybe the chart I am remembering was only listing versions and original retail pricing? It’s been awhile and my memory isn’t, or perhaps never was —perfect.

So, so glad I don't need a password to access my memory.

I'm trying to add more , but new DDR4 doesn't work with the DDR1/64k in my noggin. :crying:

My memory just kicked out a couple of more bytes. Were there not a lot more 4350s than the 4355s? That might explain the 250 pair number for the 4355. I also recall the 100 pair number for 4345s being bumped to perhaps 200 pair when a member revealed that an Eastern Bloc radio station had (was it?) three to six pair in their facility. I'm assuming the new estimate was another wild guess.

Has anyone asked Rick (saeman) about production numbers? He builds and repairs these models - better than new - and he may have a better recollection than we mere mortals.

In Chinese second hand market,4355 is more rare and more expensive than 4345:D

I have to find the document that I have somewhere that show the years production of all. The 4350 was 4 years but the 4355 was 2 years. I have no idea for the 4345... found the doc. 4345 only 1 year of production...

The 4345 was produced only one year...
