Study the history of the Pioneers and Bart Locanthi and you'll understand why that is.

Many knowledgeable folks don't really like the sound of either. Study the history of the L100 here and you'll know why it is voiced the way it is, too.

I think that Rogers sound labs built a company based on the idea of making speakers that sort of look like JBLs.

I wouldn't be so fast to knock Pioneer ... they've done many great things and there are only so many ways to design a bookshelf speaker... 'cides JBL was not the first on many of the types of their best products.
