Hi,

may I ask those of you who design their own enclosures with the help of the PC, or those who do measurements of existing enclosures and then transfer them to a file, which software you use? Are there any options that aren't that expensive, or better for free, and easy to learn and operate?

Best regards!

SketchUp is free and has been around for a while but I have not tried it because my PC is Pencil & Crayon :)

Hi Kay,

These two are specifically made for speaker boxes, not general furniture. They are small and free programs that I sometimes use, though the Winspeakerz software I use also has a cabinet design feature. Google the following:

Box-port Design

Boxnotes

Both Linux and Windows. I use it to design all my boxes.

AutoCAD for me. But I am lucky in that I use it for my real work. Still have work to do when taking that file to the CNC.
