I am probably the last one to know this. LOL

I was looking for a Clapton song, still haven't found it, a duet with a woman, and ran across this.

1988 in Tokyo. Clapton (during one of his sober periods, or at least moments LOL) accompanied by Mark Knopfler with Phil Collins on drums and Elton John.

The Elton John segment is mostly Elton John although he does play Daniel as a duet with Mark Knopfler. After Elton John's segment he stays on stage and plays along.

Haven't gotten through the whole thing but what I have heard so far is great!

The description say Phil Collins is playing but I haven't found a song with him yet and when Eric Clapton introduces 'the band' he doesn't mention Phil Collins.

Hey Mitchco.

Not that one, but thanks.

I did find it. Might be my favorite Clapton song.

"Music for Montserat" perhaps.

Possibly true but not what I was saying. LOL

The description of the video that I liked to in the OP said that Phil Collins was playing drums at that concert in Tokyo in 1988. I didn't listen to all of it but I think I hit every song and didn't see Phil Collins.

Your question was: what do they have in common? Its so simple to explain: they all are not only masters of their instruments, they also had the capability to compose great songs with unforgettable melodies. And indeed:
in common=income!

Thanks for the link! That was great, and the utube list on the right below next is Clapton, Mark Knoffler, Phil Collins and Sting with the camera flashing on Collins playing drums several times. Very nice!
