4311crossovers needed

Hey guys, pulled a couple sets of 4311's out of storage for the last 10 years, sound like crap. I would like to know if someone could make me
A set of crossovers, or tell me where to find them. Someone
On this forum built me some for my 4333's. Cant remember his name but did a great job. Thanks

Those are VERY simple crossovers. Guesstimate is that the L-pads are corroded (ten years in storage will do that) and need cleaned/replaced. Other than that, as I recall, there are only three caps to the whole thing. In any case, your local tech should be able to put them in shape with no problem.

Was it difficult to remove the plate cover to access the pads-crossover? A while ago, out of sheer curiosity, I tried to remove the woofer to give a look at inside my 4311B but even tho the screws came out easily the speaker didn't move a millimeter, I guess there is the seal which acts like glue nowadays but always wanted to upgrade the crossover but never had guts to try and heat the plate up to remove the glue :crying:

I recently did a 4311b overhaul. To remove cover plate (foilcal) you use a hair dryer and thin putty knife blade or scrapper and work slowly. It may take a good 15 to 20 minutes to get the adhesive hot enough to release. Once the foilcal is removed, there two screws which hold the crossover in place. The rest is well explained in the JBL pro service manual. The woofer does not have any + or – signs on the frame. So take note of which wire color is connected the red and black push pin connectors on the woofer. Or you may end up reconnecting thing out of phase. Now with aging drivers you may find that you will need to do a lot of listening tests and tinkering to get the l-pad levels adjusted right. So trust your ears more than what number the presence and brilliance knob pointers are set to.
