Speaker Recommendation

82906The wall the speakers will be on is 22' wide. The new speakers will be on that wall in the center about 10' apart. THEY HAVE TO STAY WITHIN 1-2' of that wall, no further out. There won't be much of a sweet spot to sit in. I will be sitting 6' to 10' away at most. Behind me is a 12' opening into the dining and kitchen area the music will be heard. I almost pulled the trigger on Array 1400s and a pair of Revel Ultimate salon's but the wife is hell bent against the size. So here I am, I can get back to some Summits or try something new. She will allow the L-300s. But I got the new speaker bug to match my new amp (McIntosh MA9000). I did listen to some Totem Tribes. But I'm wondering if anybody else has some experience with my predicament and might have an opinion on small speakers with big sound? Has anyone heard the Focals or the PSB T3's? anything like that. I thought if I could sneak by the JBL 4367. I'm hoping I can find a compromise with her, I'd hate to let her go.

Why not catch the current ESS ( large ) AMT wave and make yourself up a pair of ( up-sized ) AMT/JBL-le14 AMT-D ( or A, B, C or E variants ) inspired wannabees ?

The current < $300.00/pr purchase price of these large AMT's is a no-brainer ( IMHO ) for the project minded.

Went with the Revel Ultima Salon 2's, Hope they sound good enough to overcome her "Too Big" opinion. Arriving some time late next week. Will maych up to the McIntosh MA-9000. Here's to hope! :dont-know:

They -are- a very impressive sounding speaker. Hope it all goes well :)

Five inverted Ti dome transducers, Be dome tweeter in a waveguide, slim baffle design, attractive finishes, what's not to like? It could be in any top 5 speaker list in both sound and appearance. Good luck!
