Hello ,

I am thinking of putting back my Jbl 4343 clone in my lounge using a new cabinet
more the 21 century style ....

Does anyone has made a cabinet with a side woofer ? My idea would be do build a cabinet
with side woofer , low medium and HF , then my 2" inch medium ith a wooden smith horn ontop or
fixed on the side .

Any idea or information ?

IDK 300Hz seems a bit high for a side mounted woofer. That said I do believe there was a home made 4315 clone that did do that. It's going to be one deep cabinet to get the approx. 5 cubic ft. You might want to experiment a little before you commit.

That looks well tasty :pI loved the original back in the day, but I must say that is a very clever updated look.

No issues with the bass driver integrating with the rest although a learned member here suggested it might be a plan to let the 2108 roll off naturally and run the 2203's as a pure sub. I never quite got to that .
The audio presentation in a domestic environment was much improved , imaging was superb. ( no baffle step issues either)

Very nice project with the 2203 ....The 4343 cabinet does fit well with the wife :(

I wonder if it works well also with a 15" driver .

Also what about the speaker off axis Toe in or out ? .

May be it would be better to leave the speaker with no off axis with the side woofer and mount the other component
with a ( about 30°) internal axis ?.

Wouldn't the 4335 redesign be kind of DEEP with a sidewinder 2235? -
Maybe thats an advantage considering the narrower face that would allow -
and the 10 in Midbass (2121/2122/2123) would still be in the doghouse facing forward...

So - would you face the 15s inward - at each other, or away?
