The answer is Samsung.

Allan Devantier, who left Harman/JBL in 2013, heads up this operation.

If I'm not mistaken a few folks left JBL to join his team.

LOL, if even mentions that in the article. :p

"Companies such as Harman (where Devantier and many others at the lab worked), DTS, ELAC America and many others call the City of Angels home."

I thought it was weird that SO posted about a job opening at JBL the day after GT was fired and it was for an Intern. Anyway, whatever...

I certainly hope it all works out well for Allan and friends!

Impressive article, thanks! The facility seems poised to pick up the mantle. I wonder if Greg and Jeff could at the least have consulting roles there.

Jerry Moro is now the "principal engineer-transducers" at Samsung Research America.

Way to go JBL.

Barry.

Sorry, I am old and I meant to say Jerry. Congratulations, Jerry Moro.

Don't feel too bad, I understand young people make mistakes too.

I'll be damned...Samsung. Who would of guessed?

These do bear some resemblance to the JBL 590:

I just discovered the following website and this article posted on June 4th seems a little late to the party:

Almost like it was written in a perspective of someone involved in this forum. Could not find any names associated with the site or Blogs, though.

wowzers...

who'd a thunk it...

good news, I agree...

I heard that Panasonic has penned a deal here in Denver for it's U.S. sales and engineering hub...
I think I heard that it is more related to "smart city" type tech....

glad to see the US investments....

I was talking with a woman from Beijing yesterday and she said Samsung was huge in China, not so much Harman.
I think Paliwal has his work cut out for him taking on Samsung there.
Samsung could easily crush Harman here if they play their cards right. Basically, whoever gets into Walmart first wins. :rotfl:

^ After what they did to Jerry and Greg (and the company overall), Paliwally's Harmin' needs a good ass-kicking.

All in favor, say "aye!" :bouncy:

I just wish he hadn't trashed a lot of good companies to get there.

I think his plans for growth (at all cost) are ultimately based a a few assumptions like global economic and political stability.

With the recent change in the UK (Brit Eu exit) and the impact on the EU and immigration the markets might be bit more cautious with uncertainty about how things will work in the future.

Apparently Harman updates the branding (new logo) and attempts to counter the good press that Samsung is receiving:
