has any had experience with Volt speakers? I actually heard about them through the forum but it's pretty much impossible to search for "volt"

Made in UK. Can't find any reviews of the models i'm looking at.

Quite distinctive propellor-ish frame over the driver:

Like a spoked wheel on a sports car.

There is a British studio monitor builder, Quested, that uses these woofers. There is a photo on the products page of the link you sent that shows what I'm sure are Quested monitors in a studio. http://www.voltloudspeakers.co.uk/products/ I have an acquaintance with someone who owns a pair of these monitors (12" woofers), and a pair of the 18" woofers in 6-8 cubic foot cabinets for subs. 4way active, quad amped.

As described on the individual driver pages, these woofers can take a lot of power. Very large x-max. Heavy rubber surrounds. They appear to be very well made. I have no technical experience/knowledge to offer, however.

Are you working on a DIY project with these in mind?

yes, i was considering the RV3813. The specs are very good and also very close to the 2226, but in the end I found a very clean used 2226H for rather less than the Volt would cost me.
