JBL 2435 vs 2447 vs 2452 on 2384 horn?

I'm building a two way active system with 2x 2226H's for the midrange and a 2384 horn for the tweeter. Which CD would you recommend on that horn for cinema duty? The front three will be behind an AT screen. I'm looking for an upgrade to the 2432 that comes with the 4722 HF.

For cinema duty, I'd personally go with the easier to setup and maintain larger diaphragm driver.

Less costly, no ferrofluid, and readily available diaphragm options. Spend the savings on the video or room setup.

By this you mean the 2447 and 2452, right? Do you think there would be any noticeable difference between these two?

FWIW, albeit their frequency response was essentially identical, I noticed a clear difference between the 2451/2450SL and 2452 cores equipped with the same diaphragms during my subjective tests on a PT waveguide.
I found the 2451/2450SL core had a much more realistic reproduction of dynamic inflexions.
I have never tried a 2447 though...

Hi POS,

As I have remembered, 2452 has 'shorter' phase plug, so it has 'wider -up to 20kHz' FR, but I have no idea which diaphragm has to be used, if such high frequency want to be reproduced. May be 476-BE diaphragm or may be Truextent ( or I would expect D16R2441-AL), but the appropriated (with acceptable dispersion over 10kHz) horn has to be applied. Which ????, may be PT-F or PT-H or M2 has to be used.
What would be lower frequency to be used with 2452 depends on the used horn and diaphragm suspension characteristics. It has quite small back-side box.

I have the earlier 4622's. Replaced the 2430's with 2450-SL's. Just sounds less harsh on the top end. And I'm running active bi-amped with DSi amps.

i havent seen any qualified measurements on especially the 2435 driver.

only some frequency plots but no impedance or time decay.

Any advice?

p.s. i still miss ZILCH. so many posts i read through my JBL years...
