I am working on some L220 crossovers. There are some capacitors that I would like to replace but am looking at 36uf among others that have proven problematic to find or without ending up spending a lot of money on the parts. Not be well versed in electronics, how close do I need to come to the capacitors in place to still be within parameters?

Were it me, I'd parallel 33uF and 3.3uF caps to get 36.3uF. To directly answer your question, you should probably be within +/-5%, so for 36uF that's +/-1.8uF. Once again, were it me I'd try to get within 1uF, unless I had some reason to retune the circuit.

Have you checked the Mouser website for capacitors?
