I came into a pair of L220s for a price that was very reasonable, IMO. I knew that the foam surrounds need to be replaced. In looking at the LE14A, I guess I was expecting some type of lip for the outer edge of the foam surround. However, I am just seeing where it was kind of attached to a spot maybe an 1/8 or 14 inch below the surface of the frame. My question is this. How do they ensure a good even fit all the way around? Without a lip or going on part of the frame, I can imagine that gluing to the inside edge might be problematic.

Here's a sticky http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?469-Resurround-Step-by-step where Boputnan shows us how it's done on a 2122 driver.
The frame design of that driver is the same as the LE14 , just smaller.
That should get you on your way.

In looking at the woofer better, it is actually an LE14H. What I thought was the smooth inner side was actually the lip with the black plastic ring. The last driver (LE8)I worked on did not have that ring. Don't know what I was thinking. The information looks to be very helpful.
