I hope to get my hands on a damaged pair of 4301's that I will be refurbishing and plan to paint them in JBL black/gray colour.
How can I (and whether it's even possible) remove the grille pegs on the 4301 without damaging the surrounding paint?

By the way, the original 116A woofs are gone, how different are the 116A/H and 116H-1 (except the looks)?

And, the last one - was the 4301 ever offered in plain gray "studio finish"?

If the pins are similar to the 4430's, you could just use some pliers and twist and lift. If you're worried about the pin's finish, consider wrapping them in tape first.

Have fun,
