Showing my ignorance one again! :o:
Assuming you have a preamp that will supply a -12db signal slope, both 'fore' and 'aft', for any driver with a 'sweet spot' within that range, and an unlimited number of amps for each associated preamp out, is there any reason for a crossover? No matter a 3-way, 4-way, etc.?
Educate me, please,

That's a preamp/electronic crossover you're describing (didn't Kenwood/Trio make a nice one?), so you're still using a crossover.

The articles are very readable, and to an old EE like me, they are better reading than 'Playboy'!!
One question, please: I've read enough to think Rod Elliott actually knows what he is talking about. Does he? Is he generally acknowledged as an 'expert' in the areas he covers in these articles?

Rod's a good engineer. As for expert, he has his opinions on audio, like we all do, and they seem as valid as any others I've read.
