I posted a while back about buying these and finally got them. They are a little rough, cabinet wise, no grille covers. That's ok though as I wanted to stain them a different color anyway and can make a cover.
One tweeter was not working but I was able to repair it, the terminals on the tweeter are glued to the plastic and one loosened up and broke the thin voice coil wire.
So..they sound pretty good, not necessarily my "nostalgic" rememberences of L100's as a teenager but rather impressive anyway. I connected them to a generic Technics surround receiver at work to hear them. Naturally you have to find the best place in the room to hear the bass properly but when you do they certainly can shake the room. I can see though that I will need a seriously powerful amp to drive these to the levels I will want at home. The Technics just can't drive them loud enough without clipping.
Anyway, my first JBL's, I'm pretty happy:)
