View Full Version : for biamping purposes ...6290 + 6230 or 6260 ?
I have the 6290 for the e145's would the 6230 be enough to drive 2123h & 2404 , or do I need the 6260 ? If I change to 2227h and 2012h + 2404 would that change your recommendation ?

I ran my 4341s biamped with a 6230 on the high side and a 6260 for the woofers.
The 6390 has a fan that can be annoying if used in the same room as your speakers.
You are running a 2123, which is more efficient that the 2122 that I used, and needs less power.
How does the high end sound with the 6230?
Later on I ran the system with a pair of Adcom GFA-555s (200w/ch) and that was overkill for the high split - tho I never ran it loud.
the high end sounds fine presently , the reason I'm thinking about doing this is to help prop up the woofers with an amp of their own and buying a smaller amp for the top end. I just have a simple , slightly modified , 4628b cabaret crossover and I'm trying to sort this out without going to a more elaborate network . which I may end up doing anyway.

How are you splitting the signal into the low and high bands?
What's your active crossover?
with the 4628b network provisions were made so that you could use two 1/4 phone jacks if you wanted to biamp .Doing that will divide the network automatically , it is no trouble .
