Color looks like an Altec, but the construction and design are not Altec...
Sorry... no idea.

You can try to find any numbers stamped on the frame in an EIA listing of manufactures.

construction and design look like a vintage alnico coaxial speaker from Jensen http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/images/smilies/scratchchin.gif
Don't know the exact ref. http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/images/smilies/dont-know.gif
(see JHP52 ref. from the 40's ...)

Jensen was the first thought I had as well.

By the color, I thought of Altec as well. There is a 145 in the stamp which would indicate "Cinaudagraph" but I was hoping someone would know for sure and maybe have a model number or some specs. Thanks so much for the replies. I am new to this site and it's great to have access to such a large group of people who know this stuff. Thanks again.

I saw a Quam 12" like that years ago that was installed in a Jensen BLH.
Definitely not JBL or Altec. I don't think the magnet is very big at all, just a large cover on the back.
How does it sound?

I haven't had a chance to hook it up but I'm definitely curious. The magnet actually is quite large. The cover just barely covers it. If I get time I'll post a picture with the cover off. Thanks.
