Well you know Eaulive , the first post does employ common, every day, normal, english words ( though re-arranged in a mildly scrambled manner & handicapped by some important grammatical omissions ) .

Since my latest cipher key seems to have gotten lost ( or worse, captured ) / I'll have to sit this one out ( until HQ re-transmits ) .

If the tear is fairly short, try a very thin coat of black/grey silicone applied with your finger.
