Ahh, thanks for indulging me! I love my 550i. We made a lot of good bootleg tapes over the years with the Nak tri-mic system. Great nostalgic trip.

there was a Nak portable cassette system (don't know the model number) that consisted of a briefcase , the Nak recorder and 2 a/d/s powered speakers . I picked up the system (missing the Nak) and that was my first exposure to a/d/s.

they had a proprietary hookup, so I removed the amps (packed them away) and wired in some binding posts. still use them as rears in my HT.

that was a curious pairing that I assume worked out well :dont-know:

I remember a Nak car system that used a/d/s speakers. For some reason I remember two system carrying the "320i" model name and also a "2002" version (both BMW models). We installed a system in a Porsche 911 way back in the early '80s and it had an amazing sound for the time. I think the Nak deck was a 700.
