the amps, and that intentionally reverberant room, you want to be
damn sure there's no one at the control panels. Even talking in there

I've been in the anechoic chamber at Johnson space center. It was the only one I've been in. They are weird. Supposedly NASA built a huge low frequency horn to simulator the noise created by a rocket. The thing looked huge.

I did find out that this thing doesn't even use standard drivers. It uses expanding n2 gas from ln2 and a type of modulator.

I was going to post the link of the site I found the info but my tablet doesn't like to paste on lhs for some reason.

With all this sequester talk, keep an eye on eBay for a deal on some unworldly horn systems.

Everything visible has a sense of heft and bulk. Even the mic stands. Note the hinges on the door. Walk back this same kind of engineering to the structure housing this torture chamber. It must be massive. The pressure inside the room must be intense. Perhaps no convential driver would stand up.

That's a cool photo. There is a guy I found on you tube who has a horn from one of NASA's older reverberant chambers. Of course you can't get a feel for how loud it is. But they seem to be a horn. They just produce a tone.

I found a photo of one of the round horns. Its sitting on a cart. It looks to be about 3 feet across the mouth.

The big horns mid way up the side are 25hz horns and there 25 feet long.
