The 511/808 vc lines up w/515 vc axially
In the 811/808 application the bug screen and 515 screen line-up axially also.

Question: is the compression assy output plane (assuming the screens are in the intfc plane)
a more correct alignment feature (from a listening standpoint)
OR is the VC align. still "king of the hill"

Note: dimensions taken from A7 cabinets w/factory mtd sp.

Hello

I have always used the VC for the alignment. That said the best way is to either go for the deepest null at crossover with one of drivers polarity reversed or use the Impulse response.

I guess w/all horn sp. the impulse numbers would be close enough to not bother w/it..

Is there a way to do an impulse response w/o
spending a lot on equipment..?

I think that Robh3606 (http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/member.php?23-Robh3606) suggestion is very easy to realize, but some kind of microphone is necessary. Measuring minimum "reading" at the crossover frequency with inverted (or direct) polarity (depending of the network order) of one driver (to the other one).

Ivica

Good Idea....w/mic (Radio Shack meter) @ x-over freq (From test cd) I had no vol adjust
on EQ slider ..so I rev...term. on horn.. and got respon.... on meter
(and made sp.. bass heavy)....

Here's some of the rag-tag stuff I had to work with..
all the horns terminals were marked ...but if I remember
right..you may have to run the 811 backward porlarity...
