I was wondering if it is possible to use an 2226 basket and a ME150H recone kit to build a ME150H.
Is this possible?
Earl, you own these woofers. What do you think?

Sorry couldn't resist .

Well, not with those parts . The ME150h uses the 2227 magnetic assembly/basket which is a lot bigger & heavier than the 2226. The top-plate (gap ) is 1/2" deep versus .32" for the 2226.
PLUS: As of yet, to my knowledge, there is not an available recone kit for these woofs. Things change - so who knows .
I was going to build up a hybrid using a 2220H (.35" deep gap ) and a 2235/4 kit that I have sitting here. Didn't do it , so nothing to report . And I realize now that I would have "missed" the aquaplas - as found on the newer HiFi woofers . Maybe this "Dry-Fog" paint that "Ti" Dome has mentioned is the way to go for the DIYer who wants to add cone mass .
