Does anyone have a photo of the mouth of the H9800 - where the horn joins the driver ?

thanks , Rich

There might be one in the private Project May area... I've given you permission to access the area. That area grew quite organically and is a bit of a nightmare to navigate, but if you look around at the earlier posts, there just might be what you are looking for... there will certainly be interesting things to stumble upon. ;)

If a photo doesn't turn up, I can take and post one when I get back home. I am currently out of town helping out at TED.

I haven't got a clue... I remember Don or Giskard or someone posting pics of the parts, but damn that was 2003 or 2004.

I'll try to get you a picture of the real deal tomorrow... why do you want it anyway?

Mine were made from a suspect plug - I want to make sure I'm not reproducing a mistake . There has been a bit of chat here before about this particular issue .

There was a pic remember seeing ( thought it was something you had done ) here .

Thanks for your help , Rich

I don't recall ever seeing pictures of the H9800 halves that Greg sent Mr. Widget to model.

Here are photos of a JBL production H9800... not sure how it can help. I know I posted the actual data somewhere on the forum for all to see. I believe both Guido and Matsj used the data to create clones. The data is precise, a photo only tells you if you are in the ball park, and a couple of millimeters variation will affect the sound.

Ok .... this is the photo I saw ... http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?19336-Project-Finally-under-way/page3 (thanks Jan )

The lip on the rear is 5mm . I look at the original and Widgets clone and its not there . From further reading, this is the critical part of the horn . The new horn is for the Radian + truextent combo later this year .

I'm pretty sure I can adjust this and make a new mould now this is cleared up .

Thanks everyone for chiming in on this !
