I am restoring two Altec Coronado 841A speakers. Any forum discussion I see on the topic of acoustic insulation is seven years old and does not address maintaining the original audio quality of the speaker. Has anyone any insight regarding the use of 1"foam? Or is the 1" fiberglass acoustic matting available somewhere?

Search the forum for "Wrap-on". I forget the product number, but it is sold at Ace and is similar to the original JBL fiberglass.

Not sure how it compares to foam.

Not sure how it compares to foam.I prefer the "Wrap-On" fiberglass to everything else I've tried. Sonex foam is every bit as good, but it is significantly costlier. Regular foam is not quite as good.
