Has anybody measured the various JBL and Mcauley horn / lens combinations?

I need to make a combo that's more durable and lower baffle depth profile for a set of 4350 clones and I found that the L94 lens is almost a perfect match for the Mcauley 452 horn.

The 2308 lens is just too fragile and I have always been suspect of the short length of the 2311 to properly perform at the crossover freq (1200)

That horn looks to be a scaled-down version of the 4343 ( paragon ) horn used in the 2395 assembly while the L94 lens is a similarly scaled down version of the 2310/5038 Hartsfield lens.

I thought you were sold on PT or 2332 horns with 4"/1.5" drivers in these designs nowadays?

Well I am still using all large format, newer stuff for my portables BUT my college rental house has a HT system that I am updating with a pair of partially completed 4355 clones I picked up real cheap.

All the components are cosmetically challenged and/or missing tags, system is run active 3 way ( with a N700 circuit for UHF ) with really large crown amps (with fans) that have been retired from the road due to weight..

Stick wheels on them, paint them ( beer proof ) gloss black and stand back.

It's too bad all they will be fed is crappy MP3 files found online or a feed from the Xbox....sigh...

:cheers:

Awesome I wish you were my landlord in college. Instead my landlord didn't like the sawdust from my box building projects.

Hey Woof;

I have a pair of Mcauley horns with metal lenses similar to the 2308's on 2441's in a pair of old wedges.

What measurements are you after?
