I can get a pair of EV 15TRX speaks with cabinets in good to very good shape, or a pair of EV 15TRXB (which has magnets of half the weight, a little bit more narrow range, etc etc), but the cabinets are super mint...
Both at the same price.....to be driven by Altec style 6550 tube driven monos and maybe a tubed stereo radio as well.....
Any ideas?

I got a pair 12 TRXB's in their blond maple cabs...the cabs have a rectangular vent under the drivers, which I blocked off with some fiberglass insulation. I actually find that they sound better with the backs removed (pseudo open baffle)...
I also got a pair of vintage McIntosh supertweeters from Roger Russell to augment the high end..
I actually just sold my Tannoy System 12 DMTII's to keep the EV's...I just find them lots more pleasant to listen to.

And that looks like a Scott 299 amp on top of the McIntosh too.....Looks like a very clean setup!!!!

that is the sellers setup..:)
I have McIntosh Mc40's thru a Berning TF-10 preamp driving them.
I am still trying to find what are the most optimal cabs for them...

Just bumping this thread no notify all interested parties that now I also have some EV15trx in some cabs that Common Sense Audio designed for their coaxes....previous owner built them.
Also, I am aware that the tweeter isnt in the vertical...:blah: :D
