What to do with Altec 816 cabs???

Hi All, I just picked up a pair of Altec 816 cabs with Pyle drivers. I will replace the drivers, but was wondering if there are any good tweaks or mods that might help these cabs. I will be using them and bass bins.

Also, has anyone ever used them standing on end? That would put the midhorn at ear level.

Use them with 416 and don´t let them stand on the end! This is at my friend Hoktunas home.
