depending on the mms of the speaker you want to refresh, beware of added mass ...

If you are in North America, go to Lee Valley Tools and purchase a packet of Black Aniline wood dye powder. Follow the instructions and mix it with distilled water. When the mix has reached room temperature, CAREFULLY brush it on the speaker cone. Let the driver dry for a day before you use it!
The dye will add a miniscule amount of moving mass to the cone, and the color penetrates throughout the cone material matrix. I have revived the looks of several old 2235H drivers with this method -- the results are visually spectacular.
