Hi. I'm the happy owner of two Gauss 15" coax transducers but they are in a HUGE box. Now I'll try to build new boxes with a much smaller size. Any ideas?

Yes, if You have the Thiele-Small parameters of those speakers.

Find out the Model Number, this should be on the back of the driver.

Here are some alignments to ponder ( both are, 4 cu ft boxes tuned to 40 hz & both have quite decent bass response to @ 40hz ) ;

- The red trace is using Gauss(s) "official" TS for the 3588 duplex/woofer ( excepting the "too low" sensitivity which is officially 96db/meter ) .

- The grey trace is the resulting alignment when using alternate TS parameters ( guesstimated ; based on using somewhat more "believable" MMS & BL values for the woofers', 3" voice-coil ) .

Thank you Ruediger and Earl K! Yes, it's the 3588s. You've been to so much help!!! So, now I will build something that looks better in a livingroom than the original monitors. Happy Eastern!!!
