Anyone heard these monoblocks? I am thinking of these with the 1400 Arrays with NO way to test before I buy.

Hi Thom ,
anyone who is selling something like that without giving you the opportunity to audition them deserves
a wide birth . 10 k is a lot of money to spend on someone's word
Just my opinion !
good luck , Rich

Actually less than 7K with a warranty from the source who happens to be a dealer.
Worthy? I don't know. That is why I ask. I know that I may not find my answer unless I actually hear them myself...........

I have aint heard them on JBL, just some little 2 way things in a store here in London . Guido rates them highly - I trust those ears . He's not let me down yet ...
I cant help but think 7 k would buy you some nice Pass gear ..... Just my bias opinion !
They are a good price though ,60% of the European price ... You could always flip them and not lose much if you don't care for them.

Out of my league either way.

Thanks for the heads up. That price is for one. They are monoblocks. Need two for stereo.

Got 'em. Now I need to find a place to put 'em. I believe I will need a new audio rack. Man, they are nice looking. Can't wait to hear them.:bouncy:
Congrats! Your in for a real treat.
Spent last evening listening to them (the S1). Driven by a ARC REF3.

well...short update for now...these mono blocks are what i expected. detailed, defined, articulate, tight bass on the arrays. wwoooww! mc402 is great-really is ( esp. on the S/2600's) but these bad boys are in a different league....short time but it just feels right.
Tight :):applaud:

The rack is vented on the back & sides. However, after tax season is over, I will adjust that shelve down a bit. They do not get hot. After perhaps 2 hours they are slightly warm-not hot like some reviews would have you beleive.

Well, it is still in use. I switch between the Marantz w/Arrays and the McIntosh w/the JBL S/2600 through the McIntosh C46 preamp. The pre also controls the 1500 Array sub for both amps.
Actually, it is visable in the pics-both of the salamander.
